The “Ensley Oaklynn” Chair (2020), Designed By Andre Bato for AB STUDIO, a subdivision ANDRE BATO CORP. “Weighing at 61.2 kg the “Ensley Oaklynn” (2020) breaks the boundary between everyday furniture and art display - conveying that one form can assume more than one function. With its “legless” design, the chair rejects the notion of singularity within the creative process - in other words, it invites its viewers to always challenge the presumption that there is one way, and one way only, to execute anything. It’s raw concrete base serves as a contrast to the chair’s Mid-Century modern references, and is an ode to the “work in progress”, and seeing the beauty in the “raw” and the “unfinished”. The furnishing is made out of molded plywood, machined bolts and hinges, and a cold rolled steel support bar post supporting the seat and back through its concrete base.
